Haveil Havalim #325

Founded by Soccer Dad, Haveil Havalim is a carnival of Jewish blogs -- a weekly collection of Jewish and Israeli blog highlights, tidbits and points of interest collected from blogs all around the world. It's hosted by different bloggers each week and coordinated by Jack.

Opinions expressed in the posts linked below are those of the respective bloggers and not necessarily endorsed by me.

  3. Thanks for hosting and for including my links.

Like me, I believe that you include links to posts with which you do not [necessarily] agree. I, too, believe in adding commentary. If nothing else, it personalizes each host's edition.

Let me take the opportunity to reply to two of your comments, just as I would welcome your replies to my comments on your posts.

    1. I not at all against "social justice," except for when it is anti-Torah. But, I can understand how that was not made clear this post.

    2. In no way, shape or form did I suggest that I hate non-Orthodox Jews. Rather, I did say:

"...So, it is incorrect to apply this concept of sin'ath hinam when Religious Jews distaste, or even hatred, toward a secular culture of Shabbath breaking, pork eating, Western-defined multi-culturalism.

We are supposed to hate those things (Shabbath desecration, eating treif), and everything else which violates our Holy Torah!

Mind you, I am not speaking about the individuals involved in Shabbath desecration, etc. I am speaking of the acts themselves."

Please retract your comment, add the phrase "in my opinion," or explain why you believe that I condone "Orthodox" Jews hating "non-Orthodox" ones.

    Thank you.

  5. Please note: I made a couple of changes to my description of a couple of the posts in order to, I hope, better reflect what the author says he meant to say in his posts. It is certainly never my intention to mis-state the message in any of the posts, and I welcome the opportunity to make corrections, when appropriate.
